THE GREATEST THREAT IS WHAT WE’VE INVITED IN.
The first play in Mac Rogers’ science fiction epic, The Honeycomb Trilogy, focuses on astronaut Bill Cooke’s return from Mars with secrets that threaten his family and humanity. Advance Man, which premiered in 2012, explores themes of family, indoctrination, and humanity’s future through Bill’s actions and his interactions with his wife and children. A compelling stand-alone drama in its own right, this first play in the trilogy also sets up a larger conflict that spans all three plays. It’s a character-driven sci-fi story that blends intimate family drama with a global, existential threat.
