Experience the world through a neurodiverse lens in Bird’s Eye View, from local writer Laura Hart McKinny, from the faculty at UNC School of the Arts. This poignant and humorous story follows Lauren, a young woman navigating life’s complexities with the help of her beloved birds and the guidance of her eccentric grandmother, Mimi. Lauren, deeply connected to the natural world, finds solace and understanding in her feathered companions, especially her parrot, Nori. Her unique perspective, shaped by the loss of her parents at a young age, is beautifully captured in the screenplay’s vivid descriptions and heartfelt dialogue. Bird’s Eye View invites you into a world where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, where love, loss, and the enduring bonds of family intertwine to create a tapestry of human experience.
